Resounding yes. I might even stand slowly while clapping 🙂
As much as we all have a bit of a whinge about getting older, I don’t think any of us would trade the inner peace/ self awareness that only comes from aging, experience and observing everyone around us. That need to feel completely accepted by every single person on the planet falls away. The gnawing insecurity that we’re too different, not articulate enough, boring, mediocre at everything except the unimportant stuff—it’s replaced with a centred sense of: “This is me”. The doubt and fear that used to preface every single decision is trumped by a more realistic and detached outlook: “Is this really going to matter in ten hours’ time?” And we stand in a more peaceful space which translates into confidence.
Growing older is a wonderful thing- for what we think we’re losing in physical appearance we’re actually making up for in the genuine smiles we send over our shoulder, the grounded decisions that we make, and the heart truths which we communicate.
Have a wonderful day xxx
