It’s true.

From being loving, feeling loved, expressing love, daydreaming about love, engaging in acts of loving kindness, writing love poems on the concrete in chalk and distributing big, big heart chakra-connected hugs: there’s always a big win that comes from acting from a place of love.

Of course, we acknowledge the pain that comes from broken love or love that’s manipulated or abused. But whichever way we look at it, love is the instigator of growth and enabling our soul to explore life in a way that permanently changes us.

Whether we like it or not, life is meant to be a bit of a rockabilly party, full of flashing disco lights, upturned rowboats and spiders getting stuck in our hair as we frolic through the Olympic Stadium of Life’s Happenings. No matter how much we try and control its path, there’s the struggle, the doubt, the discomfort, the getting real with ourselves, the confronting of fears, breaking habits, challenging our embedded and unhelpful beliefs and ultimately fly-fly-little-one: the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve metamorphosised into a different, clearer and kinder person.

It’s the kind of evolution that only really comes when we’re willing to embrace the fact that the peaks and troughs are an inevitable and invaluable part of our soul’s journey on this planet. When we stop resisting the fact that everything isn’t falling exactly into place the way we envisaged. When life takes us off onto a strange and crazy frolic which leaves us feeling a little dark and woefully abandoned—but then switches it up in a heartbeat and everything flows again.

We shimmy on life’s dance floor and try to appreciate the growth and opportunity that comes— all the while, remembering that in everything we do, our contribution is valued and our ultimate soul food is to love and be loved.
