So I’m reading this book called “Anatomy of the Spirit” and in it, the author (Caroline Myss) says that even though we think that we can control how our life pans out (work hard, do the right things, make the right moves), the truth is that we can’t control what happens in life. We can only influence it.
Life changes in a second. Unforeseen circumstances can hit us like a hurricane and shake us to our core: “Why did this happen to me?” you might say. It’s stressful and painful. Some days feel so so hard. And then you eventually gather yourself and put one foot in front of the other until you regain your stride and rhythm.
Without labouring on the Inner Tripods Rule (who am I kidding, I love it- I may even make it an official theorem just like Pythagoras!) being able to remain calm in the face of the vicissitudes of life comes more easily if we can:
- let go of this idea that you can rigidly control everything and
- draw upon on our unshakeable tripod of values which enfold and support our spirit.
Work hard, hustle, do your best and have faith: life’s here to teach us amazing lessons, some of which are painful but necessary for growth. As long as we can step back and understand that each experience as being part of our jigsaw puzzle of life, we can tap into our inner column of knowing and be calm, crazy and cool in the face of anything xxx
