Sometimes we forget.

We’re so busy scrambling to get things done-  tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, for the next 5 years – that we forget.

We forget to skid to a self-imposed stop and congratulate ourselves on the hurdles we overcame, the hustle we pushed through, the ideas we created, the learning we undertook, the changes we implemented, the support we extended to friends, the chances we flew through, the pain we endured, the doubt and conviction we oscillated between, and the unique loveliness that we contributed simply by existing and being there.

We forget to stand with our shoulders back, to look people in the eye, to smile a big, unashamedly open smile and to speak with a nice, loud voice.
We forget that our presence is indeed a gigantic present.

But today, we’re going to swim to the surface of that giant, calm and brilliant ocean that’s held in all of us, take a deep breath, look up to the sky and see the sun smiling down: “You should be so proud of yourself”, it would say if it could speak.

And then, without a skerrick of bashful modesty,  you’re going to own it—because it’s fact.

Happy hump day, lovelies.
