I’m doing this life coaching course for kicks and learning, and one of the things we cover is “Archetypes”. As in, there’s about 7 different categories of people types which we all fall under. Usually, we’re predominantly a mix of two or three archetypes.

Anyway, one of ones I think we all relate to is the “Caretaker”. It’s when you get really busy taking care of others and putting someone’s needs before yours, and then looking back on your day/week/life and going: “But like, what about me?”

Usually we do it because we really care about that particular person/people, but subconsciously it can also be a way of getting some kind of validation or approval from them- or otherwise, showing them that you’re valuable, indispensable and capable. It also means that because we’re too busy stretching that extra kilometre for them, we end up feeling wrecked, destroyed and just a little resentful.

My take on it all? We don’t need to compensate for who we are by being everything to everyone and compromising on what we need in that moment 🙂 Let’s start with ourselves and filler-up our cup of energy and self-love so that when it comes to helping and giving to others, it comes from a strong, powerful and unconditional place.

Have a wonderful Thursday xxx
