Did you know that according to the Heartmath Institute, the heart is magnetically 5000 times stronger than the brain?
Those of you who are more scientifically inclined will probably roll your eyes at this, but there have been schfifty-five million studies done on the power of prayer which show how love funnelling for a particular cause, can produce healing and hope.
When people sit together and meditate or pray on a particular issue, a huge vortex of love gets funnelled into the person who’s unwell, or in pain, or struggling through some awful period. Over a couple of weeks, it does happen, everyone’s huge, collective intention to help the person in pain helps them step out of the sadness and sickness– and every little bit helps.
On a smaller scale, we all know it. We feel when someone loves us and it lifts us to be brave, kinder and a better person. When we’re sick, we get better faster when someone takes care of us. Women who’ve just been through a hellish labour will recover faster when they’re shown compassion and love from a kind and patient mid-wife.
Seriously, love in all its forms is like the antidote to everything.
The problem most of us have is that we’re often more comfortable giving it, than receiving it. If we all set up groups where we got each other comfortable with receiving love as much as we give it, our hearts would bloom to bursting 🙂
