One of the most important things my energy teacher taught me is that you can’t let new stuff in until you let old, unhelpful (and possibly self-sabotaging) stuff go.
It’s just a fact.

You can’t be happy until you allow yourself to process sadness. You can’t really like yourself until you let go of criticising and expecting you to be better than Ben Hur (only my dad’s better than Ben Hur because his name is actually Ben Hur. Plus, he’s a plucky Korean. And, he’s really good with my niece. Also, he makes grand sweeping statements about life which make me go: “Dad, that’s such a generalisation!”).

In my energy teacher’s words (and he was quoting a super smart lady called Dr Valerie Hunt): “You can’t put a icing on a sh*t cake”. It just isn’t gonna taste very good and it’s just an ineffectual glitter coat that fools no one (and especially not yourself) 🙂

Observe yourself and notice habits and thoughts that are mean and limiting—you just have to change the tape and refill your reservoir of new beliefs. It feels hard at first, and if you’re a bit fascinated in the mind and behaviour like me, you go talk to kinesiologists and awesome energy teachers because sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know.

It’ll take a while, but if you created it in the first place, you can recreate it: REWRITE IT like the editor-in-chief boss lady/man that you are!
