Being “vulnerable” is all the rage right now because apparently, society’s morphed women into men and men into impenetrable sword fighters who never cry.

One of the loveliest things I ever learnt from my energy teacher was that as people, we’re actually made up of masculine energy and feminine energy; the yin and the yang– the soft and hard edges. And we need both in order to be in touch with our feelings, connect with others (ie our feminine) while also striving and kicking goals in life like a boss with systematic, methodical precision (ie our masculine).

Cultivating a healthy dose of sensitivity and sweetness pitted against rigid, logical reasoning doesn’t make men weak or women irrationally dramatic. It just is.

If we shut down our feminine, then we actually put a big, fat blankety cloud over our natural human instinct- which is to open up and reach out to others. We believe that we can do it all ourselves. We’re a one man/woman band and off with your head if you’re going to tell me that I can’t cope. It’s all about opening our hearts up to not only give love as best as we can, but also receive it. Because if our receptive energy is shut down, then there’s absolutely nothing “incoming”—your own soul is being deprived of lovely nourishment that only human connection can really provide.

So keep your heart chakras open everyone—front and back 🙂 When the giving equals the receiving, that’s when we’re happy, rosy cheeked Vegemites with big grins on our faces and a something-kinda-special lightness in our steps.

I’m off to Tasmania tomorrow (ROAD TRIP!), so no hot tips until next Wednesday! Lots of love (and you better receive it :)) xxx
