One of the most important things I’ve learnt in recent living memory is: “Observe how you talk to yourself”. I’ve mentioned it before, but in the context of your own happiness, I really think it’s pretty fundamental.
Without even realising it, we run a subconscious tape which guides our thoughts, words and actions. We create and re-create the same dynamics, relationships and situations because we’ve been conditioned to think a certain way—and even if it’s a pretty sh!t situation to be recreating over and over again, we do it because it feels safe and familiar. Everything is habit and what you think today forms who you become tomorrow.
As you create new thoughts, the new way of thinking becomes a new habit which gets embodied. So, seriously- start today. Change your tape so that instead of berating yourself, you give yourself some lovely credit for what you did well. For example: “I ate 5 Tim Tams, I’m such a heifer!” can be switched so easily into: “I smashed those 5 Tim Tams like the Championess of all Chocolate Biscuits and I got to indulge. WAY TO TREAT.”
Think back on the day and beam out some happy love to you, because your place on this planet is special and out of everyone you know, it’s an absolute known known that you deserve to be kind to you 🙂
