So, remember how one of my wise lovely friends once said: “Really think about what seeds you’re going to plant for tomorrow- you have to act consciously and make sure that the sequence you create is exactly what you want to give out, and also receive”.

She, of course, was quoting her good friend, Buddha, and this tea bag made me think of her and a book called “The Diamond Cutter”, by Michael Roach.

I haven’t actually read the entire book- just bits of it, and it’s all about the way karma and good deeds will actually help you grow your business and open you to opportunities in life. The whole idea that you sow what you reap is bandied around pretty often, but I think that sometimes we forget that the good deed we do today, doesn’t necessarily translate in good karma arriving on our doorstep tomorrow.

Karma can take a while- and it doesn’t necessarily come back to you in the form you gave it.  So, you help an old lady across the road? I’m 99% sure that same old lady isn’t going feature in your life next week, but somebody else might valiantly help you pick yourself up after you fall down a set of escalators rushing for the train (true story—and he was big and muscly and literally lifted me back onto my feet one with one hand. It suffices to say that any humiliation I felt at Edgecliff station was pretty much snuffed out by this lovely act of kindness. And, I still managed to get the train because the guard re-opened the doors when he saw what happened. I bounded onto that train as if my calf wasn’t trickling bloody grill marks and then walked home feeling pretty great J).

The end game? Just do your best to be kind, and if you’re too tired to be kind today, just try again tomorrow 🙂
