Carl Jung is one of those geniuses who said things like:

Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves” and “The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.”

He’s probably one of the smartest people I’ve tripped upon, and one of the other main areas he waxed lyrical about was the fact that as human beings, we’re a complex mix of light and dark.

You meet someone who’s so kind, but then snaps with the shortest fuse. A generous soul who wants to help people, but sabotages his life with addictive habits which ultimately cut him off at the knees. A teacher who can transform other people’s lives, but stays split off in a disastrous existence where he can’t ever help himself.

We’d all love to “be light” and live in an eternally positive headspace- but we’re human. We’ve got pain, hurt, life bags and subconscious beliefs that keep us a little trapped.
The best thing we can do? Know that after pushing past all the external, extraneous, physical “stuff” we identify ourselves with, inside we all have a presence. And our presence is a perfect golden glow that’s radiating inside of us- ready to come out if and when we’re ready to let it 🙂
