This weekend, I’m doing a workshop on energy vibrations. It’s amazing and I’m learning an enormous amount.

In one of the activities, we had to face our partner and just look at them without talking for seven minutes. Then we had to identify who the person reminded us of from our past. I was paired with Ani, a lovely kinesiologist/business woman extraordinaire, who took to the task like a duck to water and stared back at me with pensive composure; her eyes clear and open, her mouth set to a soft line. I looked back and started to feel my smile lines start to twitch. I giggled internally and chewed on my lip- I wasn’t going to laugh, “this absolutely is not the time or the place!” I told myself sternly. The rest of the room was silent, and I could hear the air conditioner whirring.

Ani stared back (refer to pics 1 & 2 for an idea of how she was looking at me), and I threw myself a bone and broke out into a broad grin. Then I giggled softly and snorted as the side of Ani’s mouth twitched. I took a deep, shaky breath, focused on the task at hand, thinking of the person Ani reminded me of. Then I remembered a funny story that the lady who Ani reminded me of had told me, and I chewed desperately on the inside of my cheeks. It was just no good: I started silently crying with laughter, with my mouth wide open, while Ani stared back in solemn contemplation. When the bell sounded for the end of the seven minutes, Ani finally smiled: “You know I really wanted to do *this* (refer to pic 3), but I knew if I did, you’d have been a goner”. I roared and roared with laughter.
